Academician Rexhep Qosja has been awarded the prestigious “Lumo Skëndo” prize for 2024. His book “For Freedom, Truth, and Justice” has been recognized as the best work in the fields of publicistics and essay writing. The jury, led by Belina Budini and comprising Uran Butka, Anastas Angjeli, Rudina Xhunga, and Aida Tuci, praised Qosja’s publicistic work for its “sharp analyses and in-depth studies on the Albanian language,” highlighting his invaluable contribution to the development of critical thought and the strengthening of national consciousness.

In a video message, Rexhep Qosja expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the National Center for Books and Reading and the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation for awarding him the “Lumo Skëndo” prize.

“This prize, which honors my work, is a special honor given to me at my age,” said Qosja, who also raised the figure of Mit’hat Frashëri, who used “Lumo Skëndo” as his pen name.

The “Lumo Skëndo” prize is considered a recognition for outstanding publications in the genres of publicistics and essays that play an essential role in public discourse. For 2024, there were 10 candidates, including Stefan Çapaliku, Enis Sulstarova, Sherif Bundo, Arben Imami, Luan Rama, and others.
