Dr. Astrit Hasani, President of the European Weightlifting Federation, spoke about his significant achievement in securing such an important leadership role during an interview on the show “Një Shqipëri” (One Albania) with Mentor Nazarko.

Besim Hasani, the former president of the Kosova Olympic Committee and Astrit’s father, emphasized that Astrit’s selection was due to his exceptional abilities.

“If Astrit didn’t have the necessary skills, he wouldn’t have been chosen. Westerners, Germans, Italians, wouldn’t have entrusted the leadership to someone unless Astrit met their high standards. He has never promised anyone anything he couldn’t deliver. He carefully analyzes everything before making a decision. This is the key difference between great leaders and others,” said Besim Hasani.

Astrit Hasani explained that the competition for top positions wasn’t easy, but he ultimately succeeded.

“At first, there were six candidates. After several rounds, we were down to two. With the support of my brother, the Kosova Olympic Committee, and the entire executive board, we succeeded. I received strong backing from the Nordic countries, which are committed to equality and integrity. I also had support from Poland,” he shared.
