Journalist Eni Vasili has been elected as the new General Director of Albanian Radio and Television (RTSH). She received 7 votes from the members of RTSH’s Steering Council during the second round of voting.

The first round had failed, as no candidate secured the required 3/5 majority. The second round featured the top three candidates from the initial vote: Zoje Jakaj, Engjëllush Musai, and Eni Vasili. Voting was conducted by secret ballot, with Vasili securing 7 votes, Jakaj receiving 3, and Musai 1.

“The second round of voting for the General Director of Albanian Radio and Television has been successful, fulfilling the statutory requirement of a 3/5 majority,” said Fatjon Hoxhalli, Chair of the Steering Council. “Candidate Eni Vasili has been elected with 7 votes”.

According to RTSH’s statute, Vasili is expected to serve a five-year term. A well-known journalist and television host, she was among 12 initial candidates who presented their vision and proposals for the public broadcaster. Vasili has previously contributed to several major television networks in Albania.
