The Albanian News Agency (ATSH) is hosting the Spring Conference of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) for the first time in Albania, from May 14 to 16. A full member of EANA, ATSH welcomes top executives from across Europe to Tirana under the theme: “Threats to Journalism, News Agencies & Tools for Protection.”

Held at the Plaza Hotel, the event brings together CEOs and senior editors from 32 national news agencies to discuss key challenges in modern journalism, including media freedom, cyber threats, and misinformation. The agenda also includes cultural visits and a tour of central Tirana.

Topics for discussion include the ‘European Newsroom initiative’, diversifying revenue streams, legislative reforms, and safeguarding editorial integrity. The program also explores journalist safety, political interference, fact-checking, and the fight against disinformation.

By hosting this high-level event, the Albanian News Agency underlines its growing role in European media cooperation and commitment to strengthening professional journalism standards.
