German Chancellor Friedrich Merz congratulated Prime Minister Edi Rama on his victory in the parliamentary elections held on May 11.

In a post on the platform “X,” Merz assured continued cooperation between Albania and Germany.

“Congratulations on your re-election in Albania,” Merz wrote, adding in Albanian: “Shumë urime!” (Many congratulations!).

“I look forward to continuing our cooperation and to our first meeting at the European Political Community in Tirana this Friday,” Merz added.
