First Official Visit by a Kosovar Head of State to Switzerland

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the First Gentleman, Prindon Sadriu, traveled to Switzerland at the invitation of the Swiss Federal Council, led by President Karin Keller-Sutter. This marks the first official state visit by a Kosovar head of state to Switzerland.
The Office of the President of Kosovo announced that the visit reflects the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries. It aims to further strengthen cooperation between Kosovo and Switzerland. The visit also represents a historic milestone in their diplomatic ties.
At the official residence Lohn, President Keller-Sutter and First Gentleman Morten Keller will receive President Osmani and First Gentleman Sadriu with high state honors. They will also attend a working lunch.
Later, a welcoming ceremony will take place at Bundesplatz, the central square in Bern. Military honors will be presented. Presidents Osmani and Keller-Sutter will greet the many citizens attending the event. The ceremony will serve as a symbolic moment of friendship between Kosovo and Switzerland.
The visit will continue at the Swiss Parliament, where President Osmani will deliver a special address to Swiss officials. During her stay in Bern, she will also hold separate meetings with leaders of federal institutions.
In St. Gallen, Presidents Osmani and Keller-Sutter will visit the SQUARE innovation center at the University of St. Gallen.
In Geneva, President Osmani will join an event honoring the political legacy of Martti Ahtisaari. The Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, Finland’s Permanent Mission to Geneva, Interpeace, and the Geneva Graduate Institute are organizing the event together.
President Osmani will also meet with the Albanian diaspora during her stay in Geneva.
