President Osmani: Trump Helped Prevent Recent Escalation by Serbia

President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said she has credible information that Donald Trump recently helped stop a potential escalation by Serbia.

“He is clear. He speaks about the last few weeks,” Osmani said during a lecture in Washington. “Not 2023. Not 2020. These are very recent developments.”

She recalled the Banjska attack in September 2023. She called it “an act of aggression” fully prepared inside Serbia.

Therefore, Osmani warned that the threat from Serbia remains real. She said it must not be ignored.

“Since it happened before, we must focus on prevention,” she added. “That needs more than military presence. It needs political leadership. Sometimes, a phone call is enough. That’s what happens when America leads.”

According to Osmani, Trump did everything he could to keep peace in the region. “That starts with stopping Serbia,” she said.

She criticized Serbian President Vučić. “He’s stuck in the mindset of the 1990s,” she said. “The Banjska attack proves it.”

Moreover, Osmani said Kosovo works closely with all levels of the U.S. government — on security, intelligence, and defense. “We are never alone,” she said. “Our institutions gather strong intelligence. Then we confirm it with partners.”

She also praised NATO’s KFOR mission for ensuring stability in Kosovo.

Meanwhile, Osmani shared that, for the first time in years, her talks in the U.S. did not focus on Serbia.
“We spoke about Kosovo and the U.S. That was perfect,” she said.

Finally, she said the Trump administration brings new ideas to strengthen ties. “That helps Kosovo. It helps our people. And it fits America’s goals: safety, strength, and prosperity.”
