Work is progressing rapidly on the new Elbasan–Librazhd road, one of the key construction sites along Corridor VIII. Crews are advancing in asphalt laying, bridge building, and other major engineering works.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images from the construction site today, calling the road a strategic segment of Corridor VIII.

“The Elbasan–Librazhd segment, part of Corridor VIII, is one of Albania’s most important road infrastructure projects. Work is moving ahead steadily on asphalt, bridges, and engineering structures,” Rama stated.

The new road includes two tunnels, each 1.1 kilometers long, which will connect Elbasan to Librazhd.

The investment has reached its fifth implementation phase and is expected to finish by the end of this year. Two new bridges, directly connected to the tunnels, are also part of the project.

This road will become a key transportation artery, unlocking the economic and tourism potential of the surrounding areas.
