Albanian Ambassador in North Macedonia, Meidani: Ohrid Agreement, Cornerstone of Modern North Macedonia

North Macedonia marked the 24th anniversary of the Ohrid Agreement, which ended the 2001 conflict and established a multiethnic state. Albanian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Denion Meidani, highlighted the agreement as a defining moment in the country’s political history.
He explained that the past 24 years demonstrate peace, coexistence, and the creation of a state for all citizens. Moreover, Meidani stressed that the Ohrid Agreement is not just a reminder of the past. It represents a daily commitment to a European, inclusive, and sustainable future.
The ambassador also underlined that today, more than ever, the agreement requires respect, proper implementation, continuous advancement, and protection. He emphasized that it remains a shared value that ensures peace and coexistence across North Macedonia.
