American Goods Duty-Free in Kosova, Customs Outlines Conditions

Kosova has removed customs duties for products imported from the United States. Kosova Customs announced the procedures for American goods through a Facebook post, reports KosovaPress.

The Government of the Republic of Kosova exercised its constitutional and legal powers by issuing Decision No. 13/265 on August 1, 2025. The decision eliminates customs duties for goods with preferential origin from the United States. Although it is a unilateral measure, its main aim is to facilitate trade. It will bring tangible benefits for businesses and consumers alike. The decision also strengthens trade and economic relations with the United States.

The zero-duty treatment applies to goods that meet the criteria of preferential origin. From the date of enforcement and publication in the Official Gazette, August 1, 2025, these goods can enter Kosova duty-free. Customs clarified that imported goods must have a valid certificate of preferential origin issued by U.S. authorities. They must also include a declaration of origin on the invoice, in line with the laws of both countries.

Kosova’s move reflects its commitment to trade facilitation and closer economic cooperation with the United States. Businesses and importers are expected to comply with the new procedures to take advantage of the favorable treatment.
