The Assembly of Kosova elected Dimal Basha, a member of the Vetëvendosje Movement, as its new speaker.

The election took place during the 58th attempt to constitute the Assembly. The Vetëvendosje proposal received 73 votes in favor, 30 against, and 3 abstentions.

Basha secured the necessary votes with support from some deputies of the Democratic Party of Kosova, the Alliance for the Future of Kosova, and part of the minority groups. The Democratic League of Kosova and the Serbian List voted against him.

Following the Constitutional Court’s decision to resolve the political deadlock, this marked the fourth session in which MPs approved Dimal Basha as the new speaker of the Assembly of Kosova.
