The Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, reacted today to the news of the passing of the well-known actor and director Naun Shundi.

In a social media post, Gonxhja called the news very sad. He highlighted that Shundi fought a serious illness.“The artist gave his soul and life to the Albanian stage. He will be remembered for his unforgettable roles and his love for the audience,” Gonxhja wrote.

The minister expressed condolences to the family, friends, and the artistic community. He said Shundi will remain part of our cultural identity.Naun Shundi passed away at the age of 66. A few days earlier, the Ministry of Health committed to covering his medical expenses.

During his career, Shundi spent over 40 years in acting, directing, and playwriting. He performed more than 100 theater roles and appeared in about 20 films.
