Ursula von der Leyen Visits Kosova, Meets President Osmani and PM Kurti

Tirana, October 15 – As part of her Western Balkans tour, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen visits Kosova today, Wednesday, October 15.
Von der Leyen meets with the country’s president, Vjosa Osmani, and with Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the meeting between the European Commission President and Kosova’s head of state takes place at 13:00.
Earlier, von der Leyen began her Western Balkans tour in Tirana. She met with President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama. She also participated in the EU-Albania Investment Forum.
Later, von der Leyen traveled to Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia. She arrives in Kosova today and concludes her tour tomorrow, October 16, in Skopje.
This marks von der Leyen’s first visit to the region during her second mandate. However, she visited all six Western Balkans countries exactly one year ago, at the end of her first term.
