Kosovo’s Acting Prime Minister Meets UK Foreign Secretary Ahead of Berlin Process Summit

Kosovo’s Acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, met today with UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Yvette Cooper, ahead of the Berlin Process Summit taking place in London.
Kurti reminded that those responsible for the terrorist attack in Banjska remain free and protected in Serbia, even though the attack’s organizer, Milan Radoičić, has admitted guilt. He said that their continued impunity poses a constant threat to Kosovo’s security.
“The security of Kosovo is the security of its borders. Our partnership with the United Kingdom is essential to defend against Russia’s hybrid warfare and its influence in the Western Balkans, including disinformation and illicit finance,” Kurti stated.
On defense, Kurti said Kosovo is investing in innovation, education, and partnerships, stressing the importance of cooperation with the UK. He highlighted Kosovo’s investment potential and opportunities for joint strategic projects with Britain.
The meeting also addressed key topics of the Berlin Process Summit — security, growth, and migration — as vital issues for both the Western Balkans and the United Kingdom.
They also discussed ways to deepen cooperation and support in energy, infrastructure, transport, and education.
Kurti reaffirmed that Kosovo’s priority remains membership in NATO and the European Union. He said partnership with the United Kingdom will help advance Kosovo’s path toward Euro-Atlantic integration.
