Tirana, October 17 – With the failure of the vote for the new government proposed by acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the process of forming institutions now officially passes to the President of Kosova, Vjosa Osmani.

The President’s cabinet confirmed that she will undertake the next legal steps.

According to Bekim Kupina, the President’s media advisor, Osmani will invite political parties for consultations within the constitutional deadline and in line with her responsibilities.

The announcement followed the Parliament’s failure to approve the “Kurti 3” cabinet, which received 56 votes in favor, 52 against, and 4 abstentions.

Earlier, President Osmani had indicated that in case of a failed vote, she would have ten days to call political parties for consultations to verify whether any political entity could secure the required majority of 61 votes for a new government.

Meanwhile, Speaker Dimal Basha stated that the next constitutional steps now fall under the responsibility of the Presidency, confirming that the government formation phase has concluded for the latest proposal.
