Tirana, October 17 – Igli Tafa, Director General of the National Authority for Cybersecurity, participated in the forum “Cybersecurity in the Banking Sector 2025”, organized by the Albanian Banks Association and the Kosova Banks Association during Cybersecurity Month.

He stated that the financial sector forms a key focus of the newly approved “National Cybersecurity Strategy 2025–2030”. The strategy acts as a pillar for trust and economic stability.

Tafa explained that establishing Sectoral Monitoring Centers (SOC) strengthens protection. These centers allow real-time responses to incidents. They also improve cooperation between institutions.

He added that state policies supporting financial development include Albania’s participation in SEPA and the implementation of “open banking”. These measures combine digital modernization with security and transparency.

Tafa concluded that cybersecurity forms the foundation of economic stability. He stressed that inter-institutional cooperation, new technologies, and long-term planning remain essential to build a resilient and digitally protected financial system.
