Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that Albania must complete its tasks by 2027 and take its seat at the European Union table.

In a television interview from Rome, following the joint meeting of the two governments, Rama spoke about Albania’s integration into the European family.

He said he cannot imagine a world without the European Union. “The EU remains the most extraordinary project of political mankind in the history of politics,” Rama said. “These are transitional phases, brief fragments of time in the long history of integration.”

According to him, the challenges within the EU are temporary. “Globalization has transformed the world and made it impossible for nations to turn back,” he stated.

Rama emphasized that Europe must strengthen its power to remain a global factor. “Population and geography matter. Size and weight are essential to stay relevant,” he said.

The Prime Minister stressed that his main goal remains 2027. “We must successfully complete our tasks, close the technical negotiations, and then wage the political battle for ratification in the European parliaments. After that, we will sit at the EU table,” Rama declared.

“This is a historic moment for Albania,” he added. “Its value is measured by the sacrifices of past generations and the benefits that future generations will enjoy.”
