TIRANA, November 27 – The National Theatre of Opera and Ballet (TKOB) will stage Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Il Trovatore” in a new production directed by Roberto Catalani.

The production will bring tenor Josif Gjipali back to TKOB after 24 years performing abroad. In addition, Albanian mezzo-soprano Enkeleida Shkoza will perform the role of Azucena for the first time in Albania.

Baritone Ankhbayar Enkhbold will play Conte di Luna, while TKOB baritone Armando Likaj will also appear in the role. Eva Golemi will perform Leonora in the first cast. Meanwhile, soprano Ramona Tullumani will take the role in the second cast.

Ivana Hoxha will perform Azucena in the second cast. At the same time, tenor Amadi Lagha will play Manrico in the second cast. Bledar Domi will appear as Ferrando. Suada Gjergji and Greis Shametaj will perform as Ines. The role of Ruiz will be shared between Matias Xheli and Redon Sinella.

The TKOBAP Symphony Orchestra and Choir will perform under the direction of Andrea Solinas and Dritan Lumshi. Together, they will present an unforgettable experience, combining music, drama, and Verdi’s passion in one of the most important works of the classical repertoire.
