Bislimi: European Commission Lifts Most Measures Against Kosovo

Kosovo’s Acting Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development, and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, announced new developments today. He said he received a letter from Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for EU Enlargement. The letter confirms that the European Commission has decided to lift most measures against Kosovo.

Bislimi said the decision includes projects under the IPA programs. Their total value reaches €34.6 million.

“We have consistently called for the removal of these measures,” Bislimi said. “We welcome this next step by the EU. It should move quickly toward a full lifting. There is no reason for any measures to remain. This is especially true after the lawful and peaceful transfer of power in the four northern municipalities.”
