Osmani Aims for a Second Presidential Term

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said she plans to run for a second presidential term.
She confirmed this in an interview with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. First, she said she expects the formation of new institutions after the elections.
Next, Osmani announced that she will hold talks with various political actors. She said she wants to secure the necessary support for her candidacy.
At the same time, she stressed that she will continue her political engagement even if she does not win a second term. She underlined her commitment to public service and the interests of the state.
In the interview, Osmani also commented on her relations with Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti. In addition, she addressed Kosovo’s foreign policy, relations with the United States under President Donald Trump, and the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
Furthermore, she spoke about the implementation of agreements reached between Kosovo and Serbia. She emphasized that respecting these agreements is crucial for regional stability and for strengthening Kosovo’s international position.
Meanwhile, Kosovo held early elections yesterday. As a result, LVV finished first, followed by PDK, LDK, and AAK.
After preliminary results were processed on the Central Election Commission platform, LVV won 49.30% of the vote. PDK followed with 21.01%, while LDK secured 13.59%. Meanwhile, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo won 5.68%.
Based on these results, the distribution of seats in the Kosovo Assembly stands as follows. LVV secures 56 seats. PDK wins 23 seats. LDK takes 15 seats. AAK gains 6 seats. The Serb List wins 10 seats, while other communities hold 10 seats.
