Former Partizani defender Kristaq Eksarko passed away today at the age of 66.

FSHF President Armand Duka announced the news. He described it as a sad event for Albanian football at the year’s end.

Duka said, “The passing of Kristaq Eksarko, former national team and Partizani player, is a great loss for our community.”

He added, “Eksarko was part of a generation that left its mark on Albanian football. He contributed with professionalism and dedication, both for the national team and for Partizani. Two league titles, one Republic Cup, and his appearances in important international matches reflect the values he represented on the field.”

Duka offered condolences to Eksarko’s family, friends, and the entire sports community. He concluded, “His memory will remain alive in the history of Albanian football.”

Eksarko played for Partizani for seven years, from 1980 to 1987, winning a national championship. Moreover, he is remembered for historic international matches, including games against Austria Wien and Malmö.
