KosovaPress opens new offices on its 27th anniversary

KosovaPress marks its 27th anniversary in a new building. As a result, the news agency now operates in modern and fully functional offices that meet the standards of a contemporary media outlet.
Furthermore, this move strengthens KosovaPress’s mission to deliver fast, accurate, and objective news. At the same time, it represents a strong investment in the quality of journalism and media communication in Kosovo.
In addition, the new premises include TV studios, a conference hall, newsroom spaces, and advanced technical infrastructure. These facilities create optimal conditions for producing and distributing reliable information.
With 27 years of experience, KosovaPress remains a key pillar of public information. Meanwhile, it continues to adapt to modern trends and changing media demands.
KosovaPress was founded on January 4, 1999. From the start, it played a crucial role in informing local and international audiences about the liberation war in Kosovo. During the conflict, the agency published news in Albanian, English, German, and French.
Later, in 2000, KosovaPress began operating as an independent news agency. However, the early years proved challenging. In 2002, authorities forced media outlets to leave the former Rilindja building. Despite this, persistence and hard work led to steady growth and expansion.
Over time, KosovaPress introduced major innovations. In 2002, it launched a subscription-based service. Then, in 2005, it resumed publications in English. In 2007, it added Serbian and Turkish services.
In 2009, on its 10th anniversary, KosovaPress introduced video and audio news. Later, in 2016, it launched live event broadcasting using 4K technology. Today, continuous investment allows the agency to run up to ten live broadcasts simultaneously.
In addition, KosovaPress expanded internationally. In 2017, it joined the Association of Balkan and Southeast European News Agencies (ABNA-SE). In 2021, it assumed the presidency of the network for one year and later served on its board.
Furthermore, in 2022, KosovaPress became a full member of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA). This step opened new opportunities for cooperation across Europe.
Most recently, in February 2024, KosovaPress hosted the international conference “The Limits of Freedom of Speech” in Prishtina. As a result, more than 20 European and Balkan news agencies attended the event.
Today, major media outlets in Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, and beyond trust KosovaPress. They work closely with the agency on a daily basis.
Finally, KosovaPress continues to cover political, economic, and social developments in Kosovo, the region, Europe, and the world. Moreover, it produces interviews, documentaries, and in-depth reports. As a result, KosovaPress remains a trusted news source and a strong voice for freedom of expression.
