TIRANA, January 8 – Authorities in Kosova called on drivers to exercise caution on roads after temperatures dropped and snow fell. The Kosovan Hydrometeorological Institute warned on Wednesday evening that icy conditions could form across the country.

Police urged motorists to adjust their speed, maintain distance from other vehicles, and drive carefully due to possible ice. They emphasized that safety depends on extra caution.

Meanwhile, acting PM Albin Kurti reminded citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during icy conditions, particularly at night and early morning. He added that temperatures could drop to –9°C, creating additional risks on wet and freezing roads.

The weather follows severe floods in recent days that caused property damage, road blockages, and water supply disruptions. Despite these events, authorities reported no casualties.
