With the song “Nan” by Alis Kallaçi, Albania will compete at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna, Austria. The singer appeared today at the launch of the new season of the podcast “Flasim” with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Alis said he realized he should pursue music after winning the talent show X Factor.

“That was the confirmation for me to start seriously. I was shy. I had trouble singing. On X Factor, I changed completely. I said, finally, this is my moment to do what I love without fear. I call that my victory from X Factor,” he said.

He also praised the other songs in the National Song Festival.

“The competition was strong. There were many beautiful songs. They were original. The stage performances also stood out,” he said.

Speaking about his song “Nan,” Alis said he will make changes for Eurovision.

“We are thinking of amplifying it, at least on the stage side. We want something bigger and more distinctive,” he said.

“My wish is to try beyond borders. Eurovision is a dream come true. It lets me reach what I have always hoped for,” he added.

Alis also revealed that his girlfriend wrote the lyrics to “Nan.”

“She was the inspiration. She had a dream and told me, ‘Alis, I wrote a text.’ The lyrics moved me. I sat at the piano, wrote the melody, and went to the producer to bring it to life,” he said.

Alis also stressed the importance of family support. He said he is studying Music Education and added that he enjoys teaching.
