Prishtina to open “House of the Arbëreshë”

The Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama, announced today that Kosovo’s capital will establish a “House of the Arbëreshë.”
“Arbëreshë are not only a memory of the past. They are an inspiration for the future. They are a rare example of love for language, roots, and dignity,” Rama said. He added that they deserve a place in Prishtina where history does not fade, but lives.
Mayor Rama met with Geri Ballo, head of the “Made in Arbëria” project, and Arbëreshë activist Lucia Martino. They presented their vision for the House of the Arbëreshë in Prishtina. The center will promote Arbëreshë language and culture for all Albanians in Kosovo and for anyone who wants to learn more.
Rama accepted the proposal. He said the house will bring together Arbëreshë art, culture, spiritual values, and gastronomy.
“The capital considers it an honor and a responsibility to protect this noble heritage,” the mayor said.
