Albanian singer-songwriter Ermal Meta will participate in this year’s Sanremo Festival.

In a video message shared by the festival organizers, Meta revealed the title of his song: “Stella stellina.”

“It is a song about resilience and hope. It tells the story of a little girl. I knew it was the right song because of how I felt writing it. On stage, all the emotions of the song come alive, especially when they are real, even when they burn,” the artist said.

Meta has competed in Sanremo several times, earning acclaim from critics and audiences. He won in 2018 with Fabrizio Moro with “Non mi avete fatto niente”. He placed third in 2017 with “Vietato morire” and third again in 2021 with “Un milione di cose da dirti”. He also competed in the Newcomers category in 2016 with “Odio le favole.”

Ermal Meta represented Italy with Fabrizio Moro at Eurovision 2018 in Lisbon, finishing fifth.
