Kosova–Serbia dialogue, joint commission for missing persons activated

TIRANA, January 23 – Acting First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development, and Dialogue of Kosova, Besnik Bislimi, attended the latest round of Kosova–Serbia dialogue meetings in Brussels. The talks involved chief negotiators.
Kosovo’s acting government said the main topic was activating the Joint Commission for Persons Missing due to Violence. The commission is part of the agreement reached between Kosova’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic.
Bislimi stated that most discussions took place in bilateral meetings. First, Kosova met with the European Union, followed by meetings between Serbia and the EU.
He added that the meetings were successful. They led to an agreement to make the Joint Commission functional. This step opens the way for concrete implementation of the missing persons agreement.
Bislimi said the deputy representatives of both sides are expected to meet in the coming weeks. They will define the commission’s initial work priorities.
He noted that, besides missing persons, the talks briefly addressed other issues. These will develop further after the formation of Kosova’s government. However, he emphasized that the main focus remained the implementation of the missing persons agreement.
