“Skampa” Theatre Opens the 2026 Artistic Season with New Projects

The 2026 artistic year at the “Skampa” Theatre has started with creative energy. It brings a series of projects for audiences in Elbasan and beyond.

First, Artistic Director Kliton Kapaj says the new season follows a careful program. It blends theatre performances, music events, and educational projects. Currently, rehearsals have begun for the comedy “I Don’t Hear, I Don’t See, I Don’t Speak.” As a result, the play will mark one of the first premieres of 2026.

Moreover, Greek author Yorgos Theodosiadis wrote the play. Donard Hasani directs it. The work carries a strong inner drama. It explores the lives of people with disabilities. It shows their efforts to live, love, and work normally. At the same time, it highlights society’s duty to support them and treat them as equals. Through the story of three friends who live together and fall in love with the same woman, the play raises questions. It also delivers powerful, awareness-raising messages.

In this production, actors Laert Vasili, Helidon Fino, Hervin Çuli, and Atalanta Kërçyku take part. Fatbardh Marku designed the stage set.

Meanwhile, Kapaj stresses a clear ambition. The “Skampa” Theatre aims to remain an open stage. Art speaks directly to the city. Each performance builds an honest bond with the audience.

Notably, the theatre hall is almost full at every show. Likewise, the Elbasan Puppet Theatre has attracted a wide audience since reopening. It has become a key reference point for children and families. It continues its activity without interruption.

Finally, the “Skampa” Theatre and the Directorate of Art and Culture, under the Municipality of Elbasan, play a key role in city life. They support and promote performing arts, music, and artistic creativity in all forms.
