Albania has begun the first-ever digital restoration of the short film “Her Children” (1957).

First, the Central State Film Archive launched the process as part of its ongoing preservation work.

The film was directed and written by Hysen Hakani. Kinostudio “Shqipëria e Re” produced it in 1957. Composer Tish Daija wrote the music. The film premiered on February 22, 1958, in Tirana.

Next, the restoration team digitized the original film material. They stabilized the image and removed physical damage. They also corrected contrast and density.

Moreover, the process aims to recover visual quality while preserving authenticity. Professionals follow strict conservation standards.

Meanwhile, Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja shared updates from the archive. He said the goal is to bring the film as close as possible to its original version.

The restoration follows recent public screenings of other restored Albanian classics. Together, these efforts protect and promote Albania’s film heritage.
