Shkodra prepares for Carnival celebrations from February 9–15

From February 9 to 15, Shkodra will turn into the center of Carnival celebrations, an event that has become an annual artistic tradition.
Today, Shkodra Mayor Benet Beci met at City Hall with the event’s organizing teams. They discussed the expanded program of artistic and cultural activities.
“We are entering the final week of preparations for a celebration that goes beyond the ordinary,” Beci said. “It will be a full week of magic, colors, and fantasy. Shkodra will dress in the spirit of Carnival and beat with a different rhythm.”
Moreover, Beci announced artistic installations, allegorical floats, and high-energy parades. Grotesque and animated characters will fill the streets. Video mapping will turn the city into a stage. Concerts, performances, and many surprises will keep the public moving day and night.
The Carnivals aim to attract not only local residents, but also visitors from across Albania and the region.
At the same time, the event preserves Shkodra’s long-standing Carnival tradition. It adds a modern and spectacular dimension to the city.
As a result, organizers aim to position Shkodra as a key cultural and tourist destination during this festive period.
Activities will take place throughout the day and into the evening, placing the city at the heart of the celebration for an entire week.
