Kosovo certifies results of the December 28 parliamentary elections

Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (CEC) certified today the results of the December 28 parliamentary elections. As a result, the process opens the way for the formation of new institutions.

During a meeting held on Monday evening, the CEC approved the final results. Eleven members voted in favor.

First, the Self-Determination Movement (Vetëvendosje) finished in first place. It won 51.10 percent of the vote. Consequently, it secured 57 seats in parliament.

Second, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) ranked next. It won 20.19 percent of the vote. This result gave the party 22 seats.

Next, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) followed. It received 13.24 percent of the vote and won 15 seats. Meanwhile, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) gained 5.50 percent and secured six seats.

Regarding the Serb minority seats, the Serb List won nine mandates. In addition, the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival led by Nenad Rašić gained one seat.

Finally, non-Serb minority communities secured ten seats in total.
