“Albania Fair Tourism” promotes the country’s tourism offer

TIRANA, February 12 – The “Albania Fair Tourism” fair, opened yesterday in Tirana, focuses on the importance of events that bring together public institutions, the private sector, and international partners to strengthen cooperation and sustainable tourism development.

Minister for Tourism and Environment, Blendi Gonxhja, attended the event. He invited participants to explore Albania’s tourism offer through this fair, which serves as an important cooperation platform supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment.

He said that at a time when Albania is consolidating as a year-round tourist destination, with over 12 million foreign visitors expected in 2025, initiatives like this play a key role in promoting the tourism offer, strengthening the national brand, and increasing the country’s international competitiveness.

Gonxhja encouraged sector professionals, partners, and all interested visitors to familiarize themselves with Albania’s tourism offer, including major destinations, cultural and historical assets, and the potential for sustainable tourism development.

One of the fair’s main stands belongs to the Elbasan Municipality, which presents visitors with the city’s extraordinary historical, cultural, and natural heritage.

Mayor of Elbasan, Gledian Llatja, highlighted that Elbasan proudly showcases its outstanding values, from the fortress that symbolizes centuries of civilization, characteristic streets, and educational and artisanal heritage, to the impressive landscapes of Funar, Gjinar, and Shpat.

He added that the city’s tradition of hospitality and rich cuisine makes Elbasan a beloved destination for both domestic and foreign visitors.

According to the mayor, municipal investments in revitalizing the historic center, creating green spaces, promoting nature-based tourism, and supporting local enterprises are transforming the city.

Within the framework of the Municipalities Forum, local representatives will share experiences on year-round tourism, strategic marketing, and ways to make Albania an even more competitive destination.
