Shkodra Carnival Showcases Youth Creativity

The Shkodra Carnival brought color and energy to the Historical Museum of Shkodra through the event “Carnival Heritage.”
The National Center of Traditional Activities organized the event in cooperation with the Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage in Shkodra and the “Hamdi Bushati” vocational high school.
Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja highlighted the importance of the event. He said young people presented and passed on the tradition through creativity and active participation.
Students created imaginative masks, colorful costumes, and artistic performances. They built a festive atmosphere and revived a tradition that dates back to 1860.
The Shkodra Carnival started on February 9 and will continue until Sunday, February 15. The city square will host artistic props, allegorical floats, parades, grotesque and animated characters, and concerts. The celebrations will engage local residents and attract visitors from outside Shkodra.
The Shkodra Carnival revives a tradition of color and music. It creates a lively setting for families, young people, and visitors. It also promotes the city as a cultural and tourist destination.
