Today, actor Niko Kanxheri celebrates his 79th birthday. He is one of Albania’s most well-known stage and screen figures.

Kanxheri is an actor, director, and teacher. He has contributed extensively to arts education. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts.

He began his career at Radio Tirana with radio dramas. Later, he worked as a director at Albanian Television. He also taught Acting Mastery at the Academy of Arts.

In cinema, he is remembered for many roles. Notable films include: “Malet me blerim mbuluar” (1971), “Yjet e netëve të gjata” (1972), “Shtigje lufte” (1974), “Në fillim të verës” (1975), “Çifti i lumtur” (1975), “Tokë e përgjakur” (1976), “Vdekja e burrit” (1991), “Vdekja e kalit” (1992), “Parrullat” (2000), “Natë pa hënë” (2001), “I dashur armik” (2004), “Trishtimi i zonjës Shnajder” (2008), and “Farmakon” (2012). He built both leading and character roles with skill.

He also left his mark in theatre. Powerful performances include: “Hilet e Natës” (1974), “Një shok i klasës sime” (1975), “Duke pritur Godonë” (1993), “Rinoqeronti” (1998), “Shtrëngata” (1998), “Babai” (2002), “Euridita” (2017), and “12 burra të zemëruar” (2025).

With a rich career and the title of “Professor,” Niko Kanxheri remains a respected figure in Albanian art. He inspires new generations of artists.
