PM Rama shared symbolic photo for Kosova’s 18th Independence Day

TIRANA, February 18 – One day after official celebrations for Kosova’s 18th independence anniversary, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared a photo on social media with a special message.
The image shows three young people holding the flags of Albania, Kosova, and the KLA, with a city panorama in Kosova in the background.
Rama’s post conveyed a message of national unity and Albanian identity. It also highlighted historical, cultural, and spiritual ties between Albania and Kosova at a time when cooperation between the two countries continues to grow.
Yesterday, Rama congratulated former Kosovan President Hashim Thaçi by phone on the 18th anniversary.
Kosova declared independence on February 17, 2008. The anniversary marked the end of a painful journey for its people. Until June 1999, Albanians suffered from ethnic cleansing by Slobodan Milosevic’s army. After the war, international forces were deployed. In November 2005, the final status process officially began.
