Kurti meets EU envoy Sørensen to discuss Kosovo–Serbia dialogue and European integration

Prime Minister Albin Kurti received Peter Sørensen, the EU’s Special Representative for the Kosovo–Serbia Dialogue.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, envoy Sørensen congratulated Prime Minister Kurti on forming the new government and starting his new mandate.

During the meeting, they discussed recent developments in Kosovo, the rule of law, and Kosovo’s progress toward European integration—key priorities of the government’s agenda. They also exchanged views on the EU-mediated dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia.

“The Government of the Republic of Kosovo remains committed to the full normalization of relations with Serbia through mutual recognition,” the Prime Minister’s Office stated.

Glauk Konjufca, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora had a meeting with EU Special Representative Peter Sørensen.

During the meeting, Glauk Konjufca informed Peter Sørensen that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo will now lead the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue process.

According to an official statement, they discussed the current momentum of the dialogue and exchanged views on the approach and principles needed to ensure a more effective and sustainable process.

Deputy Prime Minister Konjufca emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo remains committed to viewing the dialogue as an opportunity to strengthen good-neighborly relations with Serbia, as two sovereign states on their path toward European integration.
