Sorensen: Talks in Prishtina focused on Kosova–Serbia dialogue

TIRANA, February 25 – Peter Sorensen, the EU Special Envoy for the Kosova–Serbia dialogue, said that during his meetings in Kosova a day earlier, he focused on advancing normalization with Serbia. He met separately with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Foreign Affairs Minister Glauk Konjufca.
Kurti emphasized that Kosova remains committed to normalization through mutual recognition. Meanwhile, Konjufca told Sorensen that his ministry would lead the dialogue process started in 2011.
Political analyst Artan Muhaxhiri said that the ministry taking the lead marks a new momentum, but outcomes depend on willingness to compromise. He added that dialogue should be Kosovo’s main project in the coming months.
Kosova and Serbia have held dialogue for over a decade. High-level meetings have not occurred since September 2023. In 2023, they reached the Ohrid Agreement, which the EU says remains unimplemented but binding for both sides.
