Albania set to showcase as authentic Mediterranean destination at ITB Berlin 2026

TIRANA, March 2 – Albania will present itself as an authentic Mediterranean destination at the International Tourism Fair ITB Berlin 2026 from 3 to 5 March.
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Blendi Gonxhja, said Albania will participate with a full agenda and a stand designed by the Ministry and the National Tourism Agency. He noted that this year’s fair also marks the 60th anniversary of ITB Berlin.
Gonxhja explained that the exhibition will offer an experience combining innovation, culture, natural beauty, and local experiences. He added that several municipalities, 30 tour operators, and Albanian businesses will be part of the presentation.
He highlighted Albania’s small but diverse territory as a natural advantage for sustainable tourism. The Albanian Alps offer mountain and adventure tourism. The Riviera provides coastal tourism with limited capacities. Historic cities attract cultural tourism, while villages offer rural and gastronomic experiences.
ITB Berlin 2026 emphasizes these forms of tourism, creating an opportunity for differentiated promotion, distinct from mass tourism.
Gonxhja concluded that for Albania, the fair is more than a promotional event. It is a showcase where the future of tourism can be seen.
