The Director General of the European Broadcasting Union, Noel Curran, gave an exclusive interview to Radio Televizioni Shqiptar journalist Sonila Agostini. During the interview, he delivered clear messages of support for Albania’s public broadcaster.

First, Curran praised Director General Eni Vasili for her work leading the organization. He said her leadership is successful and vital for the transformation of RTSH.

“My first message is that we fully support the Director General. We believe she is doing a good job leading the company. Therefore, we want to support her in that work,” Curran said.

Moreover, he stressed that the European Broadcasting Union is ready to help the broadcaster during its transformation. In addition, he said the EBU can support RTSH in national preparations and in its engagement with European Union institutions in Brussels. According to Curran, Albania’s growing relationship with the EU makes this cooperation even more important.

“Our second message is that we are here to help you on your journey. We want to support your national preparations and your work with Brussels. Your relations with the EU are expanding, and that is very important. Our third message is that we are here to help you build a transformation roadmap. Therefore, we are ready to assist in any way,” he said.

Finally, Curran said his main message is support for the leadership of RTSH, the Director General, and the governing council. At the same time, he welcomed the shared understanding that change and development are necessary. As a result, he highlighted the constructive cooperation between the broadcaster’s leadership, its governing bodies, and political actors.
