Bektashi World Headquarters hosts iftar for public figures during Ramadan

TIRANA, March 6 – The holy month of Ramadan marks one of the most important periods in the Islamic religious calendar. Muslims observe the month through fasting, prayer, and acts of charity. Many believers view Ramadan as a time for spiritual reflection, solidarity, and renewed dedication to faith.
Communities often gather for the evening meal of iftar, which breaks the daily fast at sunset. These gatherings strengthen social bonds and encourage dialogue among families, communities, and institutions.
The Bektashi World Headquarters in Tirana hosted a traditional iftar that brought together politicians, diplomats, leaders of religious communities, as well as figures from art, culture, and the media.
The host, Head of the Bektashi Order, His Holiness Haxhi Dede Baba Edmond Brahimaj, called for peace and mutual respect among people.
He said Ramadan represents more than a period of fasting. He described it as a spiritual journey that invites believers to renew their connection with God and strengthen moral values.
The Bektashi World Headquarters holds the iftar reception every year during Ramadan as a gesture of unity and solidarity among communities in Albania.
