TIRANA, March 18 – Kosova’s President, Vjosa Osmani, welcomed the European Commission’s removal of all sanctions against the country, confirmed today in the European Parliament. She expressed gratitude to allied countries for their support throughout the process.

Osmani described the sanctions as unjust and said they had adversely affected the daily lives of Kosovars. She noted that Commission President Ursula von der Leyen first announced the decision in December, following the EU-Western Balkans Summit.

“Today’s confirmation demonstrates that all restrictive measures are lifted. I thank the Commission and our partners from member states for supporting the resolution of this matter,” Osmani said.

She reaffirmed Kosova’s dedication to close cooperation with the EU and emphasized the country’s ongoing efforts to advance toward candidate status. Osmani stressed that Kosova remains committed to meeting EU integration criteria and reinforcing stability in the region.
