Serbian paratrooper brigade conducts exercises near Kosova border

TIRANA, March 19 – Serbia’s 63rd Paratrooper Brigade carried out military exercises today just 300 meters from the Kosova border. Residents in Kacareva, Kosova, observed the activities.
KosovaPress reported that helicopter parachute drills took place in the village of Muhovc in Serbia. The brigade is stationed in Nish, at the Narednik-Pilot Mihajlo Petrovic airport.
The exercises caused concern among local residents and prompted a reaction from Alban Hyseni, mayor of the Gjilan municipality. He urged local and international security authorities to monitor the situation closely and take concrete measures to ensure safety and stability in the region.
“Military exercises near the border with Kosovo are alarming and provocative for our citizens. The presence of armed forces and aerial vehicles in populated areas creates unnecessary tension and affects daily life. Our citizens deserve peace, security, and perspective, not fear and pressure,” Hyseni wrote on Facebook. He emphasized continued engagement to protect residents’ interests and called for careful monitoring by relevant authorities.
