Ethnographic Museum opens in Durrës

The Ethnographic Museum in Durrës has opened to the public. It offers a new space for culture and heritage. The museum is located in a 19th-century building known as the house of actor Aleksandër Moisiu.

Authorities fully restored the building through the EU4Culture program. The European Union funded the project, and UNOPS implemented it in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.

The museum displays 125 works by Italian artists in honor of painter Ibrahim Kodra. It also includes a pavilion dedicated to Aleksandër Moisiu. Other sections present local art, traditions, and identity.

Officials said the museum combines history, culture, art, and heritage. The opening aims to promote Durrës’ cultural heritage and support cultural tourism in the city.
