Edit Shkreli appeared as a guest on the “Flasim” podcast hosted by Prime Minister Edi Rama. She holds the distinction of becoming the first Albanian judge in New York. Rama praised her as a leading figure of the Albanian diaspora and a “Golden Eagle” of the community.

Shkreli shared her personal journey, explaining that she left Shkodër in 1997 at the age of 13. She moved to the United States with her family during a difficult period in Albania. She built her legal career from the ground up and eventually became a judge in New York.

She said she never initially planned to enter the judiciary but managed to break stereotypes about immigrants. She emphasized that migrants can reach top positions through dedication and hard work.

Shkreli also outlined her future goals, including advancing to higher courts such as the Appellate Division and potentially the New York Court of Appeals and federal judiciary. Speaking about Albania’s justice system, she said reforms have brought improvements and supported the vetting process as successful.
