Prime Minister Edi Rama says Albania takes a new step in strengthening its defense capabilities and reentering the defense industry sector.

Rama announces that Albania signs an agreement between Italy’s Fincantieri and the Albanian public company KAYO.

He says the partnership marks Albania’s return to the military industry and strengthens its role in international defense cooperation.

The agreement plans naval vessel production in Albania at the Pashaliman shipyard, serving both the Albanian Armed Forces and allied countries.

Rama says the project creates a major investment opportunity and supports economic development. He says the initiative generates around 400 new well-paid jobs in its first phase.

Rama says the project opens new opportunities for young people, especially vocational school students. He says they will join training programs and become part of the joint company “Fincantieri Albania.”

He says the partnership strengthens both employment and Albania’s strategic industrial capacity.
