Andrea Morricone to conduct RTSH Symphony Orchestra in tribute to Ennio Morricone

TIRANA, May 7 – Italian composer and conductor Andrea Morricone will conduct the RTSH Symphony Orchestra during a special concert dedicated to his father, legendary film composer Ennio Morricone, as part of Europe Day celebrations in Tirana.
The concert, titled “Morricone Conducts Morricone”, will take place on May 9 at Italia Square in Tirana. Organisers say the event will bring some of Ennio Morricone’s best-known film scores to the Albanian public through a live orchestral performance in the capital.
Alongside Andrea Morricone, Marco Morricone will also attend the event and speak about the artistic legacy of the Morricone family. The concert comes with the support of the Albanian government and under the patronage of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
RTSH Symphony Orchestra director Blerta Ristani described the event as an important moment for Albanian audiences and musicians alike. She said performers across the world continue to play Ennio Morricone’s music because of its emotional power and lasting influence on cinematic music.
Organisers say the evening will combine music, memory and family heritage in a tribute to one of the world’s most celebrated film composers.
