Professor Luan Pirdeni died today after a road accident in Tirana.

The 87-year-old was riding his bicycle when a motorcycle hit him around 12:00 at the intersection of “Bardhyl” Street and “Kongresi i Manastirit” Street.

Doctors rushed Professor Pirdeni to the Trauma Hospital in critical condition. However, he died a few hours later from severe injuries.

Police announced the accident this afternoon and explained the circumstances of the crash. Officers arrested the motorcycle driver, identified as 31-year-old S.M.

Professor Luan Pirdeni taught at the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana. He mainly worked with the Department of Public Law.

He taught Introduction to Logic, also known as Legal Logic. He also published academic literature on the subject.

For many years, he served as an external lecturer in the department. He focused on formal logic and legal argumentation for law students.
