Kosova and Albania intensify coordination for Mediterranean Games “Prishtina 2030”

TIRANA, May 15 – Kosova and Albania intensify coordination for the Mediterranean Games “Prishtina 2030” during a high-level meeting in Tirana.
Fidel Ylli hosted senior representatives of international and regional Olympic institutions, including Julian Pace Bonello, Iakovos Filippousis, Kosova Olympic Committee president Ismet Krasniqi, Milaim Kelmendi and adviser Drilon Brahimi. The meeting focused on preparations for the multi-sport event and reviewed key coordination steps for its organisation.
Durrës will support the Games and host water sports competitions. Ylli presented developments in Albanian sport and outlined reforms in the national Olympic structure, along with investments in infrastructure and international cooperation. Bonello praised the progress achieved and stressed the importance of regional coordination. Filippousis commended Ylli’s role in strengthening Olympic cooperation, while Krasniqi thanked Albania for its continued support and described the partnership as essential for regional sport development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants confirmed close Albania–Kosova coordination for “Prishtina 2030” and reaffirmed their aim to position the Games as a major sporting event in the Mediterranean.
