Hoxha Honors Albanian Diaspora in Romania

Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha attended a commemorative evening at the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Tirana-Durrës in honor of Vladimir Ghika.
Hoxha described Ghika as a symbol of faith, dignity, and resistance, as well as an important cultural and spiritual bridge between Albania and Romania.
In a post on X, Hoxha said the event highlighted the strong historical, cultural, and human ties between the two countries. He noted that an important part of the Albanian National Renaissance developed in Romania. Albanian patriots there promoted the ideals of freedom and independence, published books and newspapers, and preserved the spirit of a free Albania.
Hoxha also praised the contribution of Albanian families in Romania that left a lasting impact on the political, cultural, and spiritual life of both countries. He said the Albanian diaspora in Romania protected and passed down its national identity with pride through generations.
The minister added that the Albanian diaspora continues to play an important role in the country’s development, national identity, and European future.
