From Food to Energy, Where Prices Increased Most in Kosovo in 2025

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics announced that the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices increased by an average of 3.9 percent in 2025 compared to 2024.
Meanwhile, annual inflation reached 7.5 percent in April 2026 compared to the same period last year. Monthly inflation also rose by 1.1 percent, according to KosovaPress.
According to the agency, several consumer groups under the COICOP classification mainly drove the increase in prices during 2025.
Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics recorded the highest rise at 7.6 percent. In addition, information and communication prices increased by 6.8 percent. Personal care, social protection and various goods and services also climbed by 4.8 percent.
Furthermore, prices for clothing and footwear rose by 4.4 percent. Furniture, household equipment and routine household maintenance increased by 4.1 percent. Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels also registered a 3.5 percent increase.
The report also showed higher prices in food and non-alcoholic beverages, which rose by 3.3 percent. Likewise, insurance and financial services increased by 2.7 percent, while healthcare prices also climbed by 2.7 percent. Transport costs rose by 2.6 percent, followed by educational services at 2.4 percent.
However, some sectors recorded lower prices. Restaurant and accommodation services fell by 1.4 percent. Similarly, recreation, sports and culture prices declined by 1.1 percent.
